The kNOwBOX dance Film Festival (NBFF) is an international dance film festival with multi-country live screening events followed by an international spring tour. NBFF 2019 premiered in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico and Dallas, Texas, USA screening eight international selected films.
NBFF is interested in curating dance films that explore an innovative approach to collaboration, mixed media, and interdisciplinary filmmaking. NBFF seeks dance-related films that challenge the possibilities of what dance can look like in video form. This year for NBFF 2020, we will open three categories;

kNOwBOX dance Film Festival (NBFF) is an international dance film festival that will premier in Dallas, Texas, USA and Puebla, Mexico followed by an international spring tour.
kNOwBOX dance seeks to curate a festival of dance films that deconstruct the body and experiment with elements within a specific site to challenge the possibilities of what dance can look like in video form. This festival seeks dance films that explore; 1. Deconstructing the body by challenging the musculoskeletal structures that support one’s body in motion. 2. Engaging with aesthetics in a contrary way to western contemporary dance conventions. 3. Using elements within a specific site as a ‘collaborative partner’ to expand possibilities generating movement. |
